Fire Torches 3 Propane-Carrying Delivery Trucks in Northbridge

A firefighter was injured while fighting the blaze, but has since returned to work

One firefighter was injured battling a blaze that engulfed three propane-carrying trucks in Northbridge, Massachusetts.

Fire crews received reports of a vehicle fire shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday and responded to a business located at 998 Church St., authorities said.

At the scene, they discovered three delivery trucks ablaze and were able to douse the flames. The propane tanks were full at the time of the fire and did not leak nor explode, according to officials.

Church Street was closed as crews fought the fire, but it has since been reopened. Officials said the cabs of the delivery trucks were destroyed in the blaze.

The injured firefighter was treated and has returned to work, Northbridge Fire Chief David White said.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
