Two people were taken to a local hospital following a crash that resulted in a car bursting into flames on Interstate 93 northbound in Braintree, Massachusetts, Thursday morning, shutting down traffic.
State police say the crash happened just north of exit 6 before 7 a.m.
One of the cars involved, a 1997 Toyota Corolla, caught fire. The driver, a 54-year-old Brockton woman, was taken to South Shore Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Sky Ranger footage showed part of the car exploding as the fire spread.
"Only God can do that, can help her, if somebody had not helped her get out of the car, she would have burned inside the car," Jean Lormil, the driver's husband, said Thursday.
"Thank God somebody had to help her," he added. "We lucky, see how we are lucky."
The entire accident unfolded right in front of Patti Ryan.
"Debris started flying everywhere, the whole back end of the car was just gone," Ryan said.
She was able to park her car and sprinted towards the burning car.

"It was already in flames, like unbelievable flames, not just a little fire," Ryan said. "I just ran back as fast as I could to the car that was on fire because I didn't know if anybody was going to be able to get out."
Ryan, along with two unidentified men, pulled the driver out.
"They both grabbed the woman by her shoulders and pulled her out through the window and I helped them kind of catch her as they were releasing her," Ryan said. "I just held her and was trying to comfort her and tell her she was okay."
"We were dragging her away from the car and flames were just crazy," Ryan added.
The other vehicle involved was a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox SUV being driven by a 33-year-old man from Sanford, North Carolina. He was also taken to South Shore Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
State police say that based on a preliminary investigation, they believe the SUV driver caused the crash and could be cited.
All northbound lanes had to be shut down as firefighters responded to the scene to put out the blaze. The scene was cleared by 7:30 a.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
