Funeral Details for Buffalo Wild Wings Manager Killed in Chemical Incident

32-year-old Ryan Baldera died Nov. 7 after a chemical incident at a Buffalo Wild Wings in Burlington, Massachusetts

Funeral arrangements have been scheduled for a Buffalo Wild Wings general manager killed in a tragic accident at the restaurant where he worked.

Ryan Baldera, 32, of Lawrence, Massachusetts, died last week after he was rushed to the hospital after a chemical incident at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Burlington.

His funeral mass is set for Thursday, Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Church in North Andover. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, Nov. 13, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home in Salem, New Hampshire.

Baldera, who was a new father, became overcome by toxic fumes when an employee mixed two cleaning agents while trying to clean the kitchen floor on Nov. 7.

The chemical incident caused the Buffalo Wild Wings to be evacuated and also sent 13 other people, 11 workers and two customers, to the hospital. It remains under investigation.

According to his obituary, Baldera was a 2006 graduate of Methuen High School and had also worked at Lightning Landscape and restaurants in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He loved the Red Sox and Patriots, playing golf and listening to music.

In addition to his wife and newborn son, he leaves behind his mother, father, sister, two brothers and many more extended family members.

"His infectious smile, effortless ability to make you laugh and big heart drew people to want to know Ryan and remember having met him," his obituary said. "He left this world doing what came so naturally to him; trying to help others.

The Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce has set up a memorial fund for Baldera's family. Anyone who would like to contribute can send a check made out to "Ryan Baldera Memorial Fund" to:
