A winter storm dumped snow, rain and ice across the Boston area Thursday, in the first of several snowstorms expected to hit the area through next week. Here’s a recap of the forecast, and how people in the region dealt with all the snow.

Thursday's storm dropped over 5 inches of snow on some parts of New England.
The storm is the first in a series of storms that are expected to drop as much as 2 feet of snow on the region.
