Abbey Niezgoda

Abbey Niezgoda joined NBC 10 Boston and necn in June 2016 as a general assignment reporter.

She has reported in New England for her entire career, covering major local and national stories including the Boston Marathon bombing, the capture of Whitey Bulger and the arrest of Aaron Hernandez.

Before joining NBC Boston and necn, Abbey was reporting just over the border in Providence, Rhode Island and Hartford, Connecticut. From talking one-on-one with friends of the Boston Marathon bomber, to sitting down with a Sandy Hook teacher who helped keep her first graders safe during a school shooting, Abbey has a way of making people feel comfortable that helps them tell compelling stories.

When she is not chasing breaking news or bundled up covering a blizzard, you can find Abbey on a bike at a spin studio or checking out a new restaurant.

She first fell in love with Boston while attending Emerson College and could not be happier to call the city home once again.
