New England

Kevin Walsh

Kevin Walsh joined NBC Sports Boston and necn in 2009, and NBC10 Boston in 2016 as a sports anchor and reporter.

His broadcast journey has taken him around the world, with stops in Guam, Hawaii, California, Philadelphia and now Boston. He’s covered news and sports, including presidential primaries, Super Bowls, World Series, Stanley Cup Finals and White House visits.

He’s written three published books, including "The Marrow in Me," which details his emotional experience of being a bone marrow donor for a 16-year-old boy he’d never met. His second book, "Follow the Dog Home," was coauthored by his father, Bob, and teenage daughter, Samantha. It examines the American family dog as an institution as well as the family pet. There are many stories around New England, including one in which his German Shepherd, Beverly, led him back to an old family home. His most recent book, "The Perfect Catch," combines fly fishing and the tricky issue of male bonding.

Kevin graduated from Purdue University, where he played on the golf team. He still golfs and has hosted the program "Golfing the World" on NBC Sports Boston. He is also the host of two podcasts -- "Why I Read Nonfiction" and "Why I Fish."  Both are extensions of his loves.

His greatest love is his family. He and his wife Jean have two teenage daughters. They live in MetroWest.
