The Frog Pond at Boston Common will not open for ice skating this winter due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The frog pond announced on Twitter Friday that the rink would be closed for safety purposes in the 2020-2021 season.
"We look forward to welcoming skaters to the ice next year," the pond's account, managed by the Skating Club of Boston, said in its tweet.
