2 Injured in Large Fire Overnight in Derry, NH

One person was injured in a fire in Derry, New Hampshire, on Thursday morning.

Two people were injured in a fire in Derry, New Hampshire, on Thursday morning.

Derry fire officials said they received a call shortly after midnight from a resident of Homestead Drive reporting that her garage was on fire. Two people were inside the home at the time.

When they arrived, firefighters said they found a well-developed fire in the basement/garage level and exterior of the house. Flames had already reached the first and second floors and the attic of the home.

With help from numerous area fire departments, the blaze was brought under control.

Two people were injured in the fire, one of whom was taken to an area hospital, where they were in stable condition on Thursday morning.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Fire officials said it is not considered suspicious.
