The truck driver was arrested, police said. It was not immediately clear what charges the driver is facing, and police have not said at this point which direction the truck was going in at the time, or where the motorcycle was heading, when the two vehicles collided or how it happened. More information is expected later.

People were asked to avoid traveling in the area while emergency services responded to the serious incident.

The roadway was closed in both directions between Sexton Ave. and Independence Drive following the double fatal crash, and the Nashua Fire Department noted it would be closed for an extended period of time.

Pictures from the scene showed the motorcycle's handlebars in the badly damaged front-end of the pickup truck, which had its doors open and appeared to have fire damage. The other part of the motorcycle was in the median, and one helmet was also seen nearby on the ground.

Anyone with information on this crash is asked to call Nashua police.
