Boston police said one victim has life-threatening injuries.

Three people were stabbed Saturday in the homeless encampment near Boston's intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard, police said.

Boston police said they received a call around 11:38 a.m. for a possible stabbing at 112 Southampton Street.

Two of the victims were taken to a local hospital by first responders, while a third victim walked to the hospital.

According to police, one of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made at this time, police said. An investigation is active and ongoing.

Video from the scene showed a large police presence at "Mass. and Cass" with crime tape blocking off a portion of the area, including several tents.

Mayor Michelle Wu again called for help from the state earlier this year to help address the persistent homelessness and substance abuse problems in the area.

In May, the Boston Globe reported that the city had plans to once again enforce a tent-removal protocol at the intersection, after the tents were allowed over the winter out of concern for the wellbeing of unsheltered people during colder months.
