The child was found outside and taken to Boston Children's Hospital for treatment, where he is reportedly in stable condition.

A child fell from the window of a three-decker in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood.

There was reportedly no guard in the window the child fell out of.

Veronica Robinson told NBC10 Boston she was walking her dog past the building when she noticed something in the alley. She said she first thought it was a doll until she and a neighbor approached it.

"And then she started screaming and I started screaming. She said, 'Oh my God! That's a child!'"

Robinson said she called 911 and told them the child appeared to have fallen out of a window and was not moving.

She said the boy's father then came out of the building, picked his child up while begging for help and brought him to the steps where he cradled him in his arms.

"He was screaming, 'Help, help, help me. Please. Oh God. Hurry up.'"

Police said no charges have been filed, but the investigation remains open.
