A standoff between police and a gunman in Woonsocket, Rhode Island ended Monday after a foot pursuit.
The officer was wounded on the 300 block of Social Street. The officer was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where he remains in good condition.
Negotiations were conducted in an attempt to halt the standoff. Woonsocket police said they had the gunman cornered in a parking lot.
