One person is dead after a car crash in New Hampshire that involved an Amtrak train.
Police officers and firefighters in New Hampshire have responded to the crash Sunday night. Newton Fire Department confirmed the death Sunday.
Shortly before 6 p.m., the Rock County Sheriff's Department tweeted that there was a crash that happened on West Main Street in Newton, New Hampshire. Newton is about eight miles north of Haverhill, Massachusetts.
The train is an Amtrak Downeaster.
"Due to police activity on the railroad right of way, trains 695, 696, 697, 698 and 699 will experience delays," a statement from Amtrak said. "It is not known at this point the duration of the delay."
