Apple CEO Tim Cook visited people who spent Thanksgiving at a Massachusetts hospital after a car crashed into a local Apple store earlier in the week.
South Shore Hospital in Weymouth confirmed in a statement that Cook and the company's senior vice president Deirdre O'Brien visited patients on Friday who were hurt when an SUV plowed through the front of an Apple Store last Monday in Hingham.

“We are grateful that Tim Cook and Deirdre O’Brien from Apple were able to come to South Shore Hospital on Friday to visit with some of the patients who were injured during last week’s tragedy at the Apple Store in Hingham,” said Allen Smith, President and CEO, South Shore Health. "The genuine caring and kindness shown by Tim and his team on this visit did so much to lift the spirits of the patients and our colleagues.”
“We are also so appreciative of the wonderful care our entire team has provided to these patients, from our EMS at the scene of the accident right through to the emergency room, the trauma and critical care teams and all the doctors, nurses and colleagues who have provided care and support in the hospital and at home with our VNA team," Smith added.

Nineteen people were injured in the incident, including a firefighter from Hyannis. One man, who has been identified as 65-year-old Kevin Bradley, died from his injuries.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the deadly crash. The SUV driver appeared in court Tuesday where bail was set at $100,000.
