One man is dead and another was injured in related shootings in New Hampshire Wednesday, the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office said.
Shortly before 9:30 a.m., authorities found 83-year-old Robert Prest dead inside a home on Center Road in Lyndeborough. The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office said in a statement Wednesday night that his death is under investigation, with an autopsy scheduled Friday morning. Earlier Wednesday, the office referred to it as a shooting death.

Three hours earlier, police responded to a home on Townsend Hill Road in Brookline, where 44-year-old Carlos Quintong was found suffering from gunshot wounds, according to the AG's office. He was taken to a hospital and is being treated.
Prosecutors say 45-year-old Robert Gagnon was arrested on a charge of attempted murder in the shooting of Quintong.

Authorities said Wednesday afternoon that the shootings are believed to be related. No charges were announced in Prest's death and the attorney general's office did not elaborate on the connection Wednesday night.
Gagnon will be arraigned at a later date in Hillsborough County Superior Court.
Lyndeborough, a town of about 1,700 residents, is located in southern New Hampshire, west of Manchester and Nashua.
