The homicide unit was called in as per normal protocol, police said.

The Suffolk District Attorney's Office identified the body Tuesday as 24-year-old Wedefegerson Desir, of Boston, but said autopsy results are still pending.

Desir had been reported missing by family members last week. He had last been seen on Aug. 11 around 2 a.m. at the Barking Crab, police said, where he left his belongings. He suffered from mental health issues and did not have his medication with him.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
