A dog attack left one person with life-threatening injuries and three others, including two Boston police officers, hurt.
A dog bit two people believed to be its owners as well as two police officers helping them in Boston on Monday afternoon, police said, leaving the two civilians, a woman and man, seriously hurt.
An officer shot the dog, which was wounded but still alive as of Monday evening, according to Boston police. The two civilians who were hurt were a woman, who had life-threatening injuries, and a man, who had serious injuries, while the officers' injuries were non-life-threatening.

The dog attack was reported about 4:29 p.m. on Dennison Street in Roxbury, according to police. When the officers arrived, they found two adults with wounds consistent with a dog attack, and as they gave them aid, the dog returned and attacked them as well.
Investigators believe the initial attack took place inside the building, while the second attack on the officers took place outside. The woman and man who were hurt are believed to be related, but police didn't identify them.

All the people who were bitten were taken to local hospitals, and the dog that was shot, which remained alive as of a police briefing to reporters about 7 p.m., was taken away by Boston Animal Control, along with three other dogs that were at the home.
Police are asking for anyone with information on the dog's background or Monday's attack to reach out to them.
A police representative asked for the breed of the dog didn't offer a comment on it.
