Dryft Opens at Revere Beach

An upscale restaurant is on its way to a historic seaside location

This week’s Restaurant Roundup includes some bad news for Gourmet Dumpling House, a new Trader Joe’s and a brewery closing.

A new upscale restaurant is open for business at a historic seaside location a few miles north of Boston, and a couple of people who are behind several local restaurants are behind this spot as well.

Dryft, created by restaurateur Michael Aldi, has officially opened at Revere Beach, according to a press release. The restaurant features a raw bar, classic New England seafood selections and Italian-influenced pasta dishes, steaks, poultry and fresh local vegetables.

It features seating for 140, with an additional 100 seats planned for an outdoor bar area to be added in 2020.

"We’ve been looking forward to this for a long time, and we are incredibly excited to celebrate the grand opening of Dryft," Michael Aldi said. "It’s a tremendous opportunity to be part of the nightlife scene in Revere and contribute to the dining options in this great community. We plan to become a central destination on Revere Beach for residents and visitors alike."

John and Michael Aldi are also investors and operators of such restaurants as Pier 6 in Charlestown, the Reel House in East Boston, and Mija Cantina & Tequila Bar at Boston's Faneuil Hall.

The address for the restaurant and bar is 500 Ocean Avenue, Revere, MA, 02151.
