The fire was reported about 3:45 p.m. at the Hyde Park Commuter Rail stop, according to Boston Fire District Chief Steven Fairneny. He said the explosion was heard by a police officer nearby, and that someone sent him a video of electrical arcing soon afterward.
Some train service was restored by early evening, but residual delays continued.
