Which Boston Streets Will Be Closed for Trick-or-Treating on Halloween

Here's which streets will be closed to traffic Thursday afternoon to let costumed kids trick-or-treat free from worry about cars and trucks

While plenty of communities throughout New England are postponing treat-or-treating due to the heavy rain and wind in the forecast, Boston is still going through with more than a dozen street closures to keep costumed kids safe.

"All users of Boston’s streets are strongly advised to plan ahead to detour around these locations, and to proceed with caution and watch for children crossing on all City streets," the city's announcement reads.

Here's which streets will be closed to traffic Thursday afternoon to let costumed kids trick-or-treat free from worry about cars and trucks:

Back Bay

Marlborough Street from Berkeley to Fairfield streets is closed from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Beacon Hill

The following closures last from 4 to 8 p.m.:

Pinckney Street from Joy to Charles streets

Mount Vernon Street from Joy to Charles streets

Chestnut Street from Walnut to Charles streets

West Cedar Street from Revere to Chestnut streets

Anderson Street from Myrtle to Pinckney streets

Branch Street from Charles to Spruce streets

Charlestown

The following closures last from 4 to 8 p.m.:

Monument Square, all streets abutting the monument

Monument Avenue from Monument Square to Warren Street

Winthrop Street from Monument Square to Common Street

East Boston

Saratoga Street from Marion to Brooks streets is closed from 5 to 8 p.m.

Jamaica Plain

Dunster Road from Centre to Dane streets is closed to traffic from 5 to 8 p.m.

Roslindale

Mendum Street from Fairview to Walter streets is closed to traffic from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

South Street from Lesher to Washington streets is closed to traffic from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Mosgrove Avenue from South to Washington streets is closed to traffic from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Tyndale Street from Guernsey to Walworth streets is closed to traffic from 6 to 8 p.m.

South Boston

Beckler Avenue from K Street to the end is closed to traffic from 2 to 8 p.m.

South End

Pembroke Street from Warren Avenue to Tremont Street is closed to traffic from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Waltham Street from Tremont Street to Shawmut Avenue is closed to traffic from 5 to 8 p.m.
