A fire broke out at a historic hotel on Cape Cod overnight.
The blaze started around 12:55 a.m. Tuesday at the Dan'l Webster Inn and Spa in Sandwich, authorities said. Fire officials said an employee noticed flames at the rear of the building through a security camera and pulled the fire alarm and started banging on guests' doors.

A couple dozen guests had to be evacuated from the hotel, but no injuries were reported.
The Dan'l Webster Inn & Spa said in a Facebook post around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday that guest rooms and the Beach Plum Spa remain open and fully operational.
"We want to inform our cherished guests and community that we experienced a small fire last night," they said. "Thankfully, the damage to our building is minimal. However, as a precaution, our food and beverage operaitons are temporarily closed."
The inn said town officials are working closely with them to ensure the quickest reopening while also making sure all guests and staff are safe.
"We appreciate your understanding and support in the upcoming days. Stay tuned for updates on when our dining options will reopen," they said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
