Police said a vehicle crashed into D'Ann's Sports & Entertainment Restaurant at 340 Centre Avenue. Aerial footage from NBC10 Boston's Sky Ranger helicopter showed a black car with substantial front end damage, and a large hole in the side of the restaurant.

A car crashed into a restaurant Monday morning on Centre Avenue in Abington, Massachusetts.

The car rammed through the wall and into the bar area, but no one was in the area where the car smashed through.

The driver may have had some kind of medical emergency that caused him to jam his foot onto the accelerator, officials said.

The restaurant's general manager got to the car first and had to pull the driver's foot off the gas pedal, according to D'Ann's owner.

People stopping by for lunch were stopped in their tracks.

"Every time I come to visit, we come to D'Ann's," said Faith Verrochio, from Florida. "It's a shame. They just spent all that money redoing it."

Those repairs cost $1.2 million, according to the owner.

In fact, it's not the first time a car has crashed into D'Ann's. It happened in 2016, when someone in the parking lot mixed up the brake and the gas and ran their car into the building.
