Concord Carlisle High School Staff Member Under Investigation for ‘Unprofessional Conduct'

Dr. Laurie Hunter issued a statement Tuesday saying the staff member at Concord-Carlisle High School heard about the unprofessional conduct last week

As word is spreading, questions are mounting in the small town of Concord, Massachusetts where school officials say a staff member at Concord Carlisle High School is under investigation for "unprofessional conduct."

School Superintendent Dr. Laurie Hunter issued a statement Tuesday saying high school administrators were made aware of the staff member's alleged unprofessional conduct last week.

As a result, the staff member was placed on administrative leave.

"Last week, high school administrators were made aware of unprofessional conduct by an individual staff member who was placed on leave immediately and an investigation was started. Concord Police have been involved throughout," Hunter said in the statement.

"Of course it matters. Kids matter and whenever a kid is in danger it matters," Paula Parisse said.

The community was expecting to hear a lot more than what the school sent home to students and parents, only saying the staff member has been on leave since last week.

No further detail was given about the alleged behavior and the staff member has not been identified by name or position.

"Confidentiality and privacy requirements constrain the information that we can share but student safety remains our top priority and we take that responsibility very seriously," Dr. Hunter said in her statement.

The alarming allegations have come as a shock to students like Charles Wang.

"I was a little surprised when I first heard that because every teacher I've had here has been amazing," the senior said. "It's an amazing school."

Concord police are investigating as the community waits for answers.

"Because you can’t make a decision, you can’t make an opinion until you know the facts and it's important to wait for the facts," said Parisse.

No criminal charges have been filed, but police say they are still investigating the facts.
