Crews responded to a fire in a Sandwich house early Sunday morning.
According to the fire department, they received a call around 3:50 a.m. Sunday for a house fire at 11 Jacob's Meadow.
When the first engine arrived two minutes later, the structure was found to be 75 percent involved. Authorities then learned that the owners and occupants of the building were not on the Cape.
A second alarm was requested, which brought several more units, including those from Cotuit, Barnstable and Bourne.
The fire was extinguished within 90 minutes of arrival, authorities said. Crews remained on scene for three hours to conduct salvage operations and wet down hot spots.
According to the fire department, the house was a total loss. They estimate damages to be $650,000.
