Authorities are investigating the death of a young girl in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
The Essex County District Attorney's Office said Wednesday that a man called Lawrence police shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday to report that his 15-month-old foster child was unresponsive.
The girl was taken to Lawrence General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Investigators said the child did not show any obvious signs of trauma.
The child's identity has not been released.
The home on the corner of Howard Street and Allston Street is now at the center of the investigation. Family and friends of the baby girl's biological mother are desperate for answers.
"There's no words to describe the feeling," said Kimberly Martinez, a friend of the child's mother.
