First responders extricated the driver from the Chevrolet Silverado and began administering life-saving measures. The victim was rushed to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, where he ultimately died from his injuries, police said.

The Chevrolet Tahoe driver was not hurt in the crash, and no one else was inside either vehicle.

According to police, an initial investigation suggests the pickup truck driver was turning left off Central on to Park Avenue when the SUV driver, who was traveling east on Central Street, disregarded a traffic control device, colliding with the truck and sending both vehicles down the embankment on the south side of Central Street.

Police say drugs and alcohol do not appear to have been factors in causing this collision.

Authorities have not released the names of the either driver involved in the crash. It wasn't immediately clear if any charges would be filed.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone who witnessed it is asked to call police at 603-886-6011.
