Police in Wayland, Massachusetts, are looking for the driver responsible for a hit-and-run crash that critically injured a 72-year-old woman.
The crash was reported around 7 p.m. Friday. Authorities say the victim was hit while trying to cross at the intersection of Route 30 and Old Tavern Road.

The driver fled the scene, police said. Authorities believe a dark sedan may have been involved in the crash. They say the vehicle may have front-end damage.
The woman was brought to a Boston hospital in critical condition. There was no update on her condition Saturday.

Neighbors tell NBC10 Boston they're terrified after what happened.
"It's scary and sad. Somebody got hurt. Then the person ran away. That's so irresponsible," one woman said.
"It's still kind of hurting me, and I can't believe that somebody hit somebody and they just leave," one man said.

"They have to do something here, and I hope they take notice of the problems we face," he added of what he feels are dangerous road conditions.
The neighborhood where this occurred had recently petitioned for a traffic light to replace what some feel is a dangerous crosswalk where cars exceed the posted 25 miles per hour speed limit.
"It's been very dangerous. Many accidents happened before," another neighbor said.
Neighbors say they're now thinking twice about crossing the street at night.
