Boston Calling announced Wednesday that legendary rock bands the Foo Fighters and the Red Hot Chili Peppers will headline the 2020 Memorial Day weekend festival.

“Boston is such a great city for rock music, and we are so proud to bring some of the most important rock artists of all time to Boston Calling next Memorial Day Weekend," said Brian Appel, the festival's co-founder and CEO. "We have worked for years to bring the Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers to the festival, and this year everything lined up perfectly. We couldn’t be happier, and will complement them with an incredibly diverse lineup of artists throughout the festival weekend."

The 2020 festival will be held from May 22-24 at the Harvard Athletic Complex.

Limited presale 3-day passes will go on sale this Thursday at 10 a.m. at www.bostoncalling.com.

The Foo Fighters and the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be part of a bill including over 60 performers, including an additional headliner, which will be announced in January.

Last year's headliners included Twenty One Pilots, Tame Impala and Travis Scott.
