The tradition of high school football rivalries started with Needham and Wellesley.
The two towns have a friendly rivalry across all sports. The rivalry, that is the oldest in public high school football rivalry, started in 1882 when East and West Needham separated, taking their respective high schools with them.
"Wellesley and Needham is in our blood and we have been coming since our kids were really little," says Jennifer Halloran of Wellesley.
The big Thanksgiving game is just as important as the big meal.
Lindsey Charron of Wellesley says she gets to re-connect with people she hasn’t seen in a while. And players know the pressure is on.
Today Wellesley beat Needham 34-14 and end the year 10-1.
