The search near Hoodkroft Country Club began with a tip from Derry police on Wednesday, the officials said. The search closed the golf course for the day and came three days after Derry police issued a press release about the ongoing search for Grazewski.

“Our thoughts are with Amanda Grazewski’s family during this incredibly difficult time. We extend our deepest sympathy to them,” said Attorney General John M. Formella in a media release.

Amanda's mother, Jessica Grazewski, told NBC10 Boston it was hard not knowing what happened to her all these years.

"Beginning to wonder if I was going to know, like ever find out," she said. "Wanting to know for me and her daughter."

Days after the remains were found, authorities confirmed her identity.

"I mean, it's gut-wrenching to hear it initially, but it does bring, somewhat, a closure for me and the family," said Jessica Grazewski. "I believed it was her, but I was just waiting to get the final word."

Amanda Grazewski, who was 23, had a little girl who is 9 years old. The family says she had struggled with addiction, but had been trying to improve her life to be a better mom.

"I just want her to be remembered for, you know, other than this story," said Jessica Grazewski. "She was very funny, just a very dry sense of humor, and aspiring to get well, she was a great child."

She says law enforcement has expressed to her that her daughter could have been a victim of a crime.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death. The case remains under investigation by the Derry Police Department, and anyone with information is urged to call them at 603-432-6111.

"She's my baby," said Jessica Grazewski. "Just finding out what happened to her, and bringing the people that are responsible to justice."
