A power outage was reported in Boston's South End on Thursday morning, with hundreds of customers without electricity.
The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency reported nearly 500 customers without power at the height of the outage.

The outage was originally reported shortly after 1 a.m. in the area of Union Park and Tremont Street.

Eversource said the outage was the result of planned overnight maintenance work on the electric system in the South End, which resulted in approximately 465 customers to be without power for the duration of that work. The work was completed by 7 a.m. and power restored to all affected customers.
