A man is dead after a three-vehicle crash led to a fire on Interstate 195 near the Massachusetts-Rhode Island line.
The crash happened on the westbound side of the highway near Exit 1 in Seekonk, according to Massachusetts State Police. Troopers responded around 1:20 p.m.

The driver of a Toyota Highlander, identified as a 36-year-old Springfield man, was killed, police said. His name has not been released.
Police said the crash also involved a Ford F-650, whose driver was brought to a hospital with minor injuries, and a tractor-trailer, whose driver was unhurt.

I-195 west was closed at the exit, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation said, and drivers were being urged to avoid the highway because the accident caused multiple lanes to be closed.
Police said all lanes were reopened a short time after 6:30.
Images shared on social media showed a car completely engulfed in flames on the side of the highway, after apparently colliding with a truck.
