NBC Boston today announced that JC Monahan will join the NBC Boston team in July as news anchor of the station’s afternoon and evening weekday newscasts. Monahan will deliver the latest, local news to viewers in the Greater Boston area. Monahan will also contribute to NBC Boston’s special programming. She will make her on-air debut in mid July.

Monahan will return to the NBCUniversal family after working for stations throughout New England, including necn. Monahan launched her career in local news at WZON-TV in Bangor, Maine, when she was named news director for that station. Her first on-air television job was also in Bangor at NBC affiliate WLBZ.
Monahan is a native of Newton, Massachusetts. She earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Maine. She also graduated from Mississippi State University’s Broadcast Meteorology program.
