15-Year-Old Girl Charged in Fatal Stabbing in Fall River, Mass.

A 15-year-old girl is under arrest in connection to a homicide in Fall River, Massachusetts.

Heavenly Arroyo is accused of killing 68-year-old Ava Vazquez in an apartment at 220 Johnson St. in Fall River on Sunday.

Authorities responded to a call at 5:02 p.m. on Sunday, where they discovered Vazquez suffering from multiple stab wounds in her second floor apartment. She was transported to Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, where she was later pronounced dead.

Arroyo, formerly of Rochester, New York, had been living at the Johnson Street residence with the victim and her grandson for the past two weeks.

The teen was formally charged with murder on Monday morning and was arraigned in Fall River District Court later in the day. She was ordered held without bail and is due back in court on Oct. 15 for a status conference.

It is unclear if she has an attorney.

According to a prosecutor, Arroyo stabbed Vazquez "upwards of 20 times" and admitted to the crime during the investigation, WJAR reported.
