Guns Found, Suspect at Large After Hourslong Search in Charlestown

The incident began about 12:30 p.m. when the person — wanted on multiple warrants — crashed their green car, which police were chasing, off of Terminal Street, Boston police said

Boston and state police spent hours searching an area near the Tobin Bridge in Charlestown for a wanted person who fled a car crash.

Officers were leaving the scene just before 4 p.m. They didn't find the person they were looking for, police said, but they did find a gun in the car and another in a building.

The incident began just before 12:30 p.m. when police tried to pull over the man, who was wanted on multiple warrants and had a suspended driver's license. He drove off in his green car but crashed nearby and ran into a large building complex on Terminal Street, police said.

Police dogs and SWAT officers were brought in but the person, whom police haven't identified, wasn't found, police said.

Anyone with information about what happened was asked to call police.
