While investigating the scene, police say they were notified of a victim that walked into Milton Hospital with a gunshot wound. This person has since died as well.

Authorities say they believe the incidents could be related.

Crime scene response, homicide detectives and K-9 units were on scene for several hours gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses last night. They put up crime tape and were using flashlights to search the area.

Neighbors say they heard several gunshots and then saw a car crash into a pole. They could see bullet shell casings littered all over the ground. They say all the chaos last night is very unusual for such a quiet neighborhood.

This is just one of over 30 shootings in Boston so far this year and it comes as the city tries to address gun violence. According to police data, Homicide rates have doubled since this time last year.

Earlier this month, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu set a goal to lower those rates by 20% over the next three years.
