A JetBlue pilot who was arrested Thursday evening at Boston's Logan International Airport as a fugitive from justice is facing sexual exploitation charges in North Carolina.

Jeremy Gudorf, 33, of Xenia, Ohio, was arrested at the airport when U.S. Customs and Border Protection flagged that he had an active warrant out of North Carolina, according to Massachusetts State Police. He was charged in Massachusetts as a fugitive from justice.

At a court appearance in East Boston District Court Friday, prosecutors said the warrant in North Carolina was for a charge of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

His attorney said Gudorf was aware of the seriousness of the charges and intended to appear in that state to answer the warrant. He has no previous criminal history, according to his attorney.

A judge set bail at $10,000 with the condition that Gudorf appear in North Carolina to clear that warrant by Tuesday. Further details of that case were not discussed in court.

His next court date in Massachusetts is set for March 19, though his appearance will be waived if he turns himself in on the warrant.

Gudorf is a commercial pilot, according to his attorney. He was supposed to be a member of the crew on a JetBlue flight to Paris before he was detained. The company issued the following statement to NBC10 Boston:

"We are aware of and closely reviewing the arrest of one of our pilots upon reporting for work at Boston’s Logan Airport Thursday evening due to an outstanding warrant. The pilot has been placed on indefinite leave as law enforcement proceeds with the matter."
