A man was found fatally shot at a Maine home he'd been staying in Saturday, and a man who lives at the home was arrested on a murder charge, state police said.

Christopher Nickerson, 38, was found at the home on River Road in Norridgewock after officers were called there about 9:25 a.m., according to Maine State Police.

Daniel Markey, a 59-year-old resident of the home, was later arrested on a murder charge. He's due to appear in court Monday afternoon, according to police.

It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.

Nickerson's cause of death was being determined by the state medical examiner; police didn't say if the two men knew each other or what their relationship might be.

Norridgewock is a town in Somerset County, north of Augusta, with a population of around 3,200. Investigators had previously said there was no danger to the public as they investigated a person's killing.
