A man faces multiple charges after barricading himself in a home early Monday morning in the Hyde Park section of Boston, prompting a large response by the city's police department.
The incident began around 3:30 a.m. Monday at a home on Hopewell Road. Boston police said that the suspect fired a round at some point during the incident.

The man was the only person in the home, according to police. Community members were urged to avoid the area while the situation was ongoing.
Police confirmed around 9 a.m. that the standoff had ended and the suspect had been taken into custody.

No injuries were reported.
A relative of the suspect who lives a few houses down said she and her husband awoke to the sound of gunshots.
"I feel relief that he's still here with us and hope that he would get help and hope that nothing like this happens again," she said. "That he will get the proper help that he needs."
Police identified the suspect Tuesday morning as 42-year-old Andres Rivera, of Boston.
They said he will be arraigned later Tuesday in West Roxbury Court on charges including armed home invasion, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, 11 counts of assault with a dangerous weapon (gun), three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60, malicious destruction of property over $1,200, two counts of malicious damage to a motor vehicle, three counts of armed kidnapping and resisting arrest.
