A man has been indicted 16 years after a woman was found shot to death in her father's car in Somerville, Massachusetts, prosecutors announced Thursday.

The April 2009 killing of Charline Rosemond was long unsolved. Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said at a news conference that the 23-year-old from Everett is believed to have been killed while trying to buy a used car through a close friend.

Heinsky Anacreon, a 38-year-old from Malden, was indicted on a murder charge by a grand jury, Ryan said. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney who could speak to the charge.

Investigators believe Anacreon worked with Rosemond's friend, Roberto Jeune, to lure her to the parking lot and kill her for the money. Jeune died last year in Philadelphia, of natural causes.

"Charline Rosemond was a promising and hard-working young woman who wanted only to buy a new car
had her whole life ahead of her," Ryan said.

Ryan and Somerville Police Chief Shumeane Benford extended condolences to Rosemond's family.
