Firefighters said when they arrived on scene, they found several people hanging out of the windows on the third floor.
Firefighters rescued several people who became trapped inside a triple decker during a fire early Sunday in Brockton, Massachusetts.
The flames ripped through the second and third floors of the multi-family home on Central Square around 12:45 a.m.

According to the fire chief, five people were hanging out the third-floor windows when firefighters arrived on scene.
One adult and four teenagers were rescued over ground ladders. Two other people who were in the home were also taken to the hospital.

A total of seven people were transported, and all were in stable condition except for one teenager who was in critical condition.
The heaviest fire was put out within an hour or so. Video taken by a neighbor overnight showed heavy flames pouring out of the home. There's extensive damage to the building, which is now uninhabitable.

One neighbor says when he woke up and looked out across the street, he could see flames everywhere.
"Came out here, was going to try to help but by the time we got out here, the fire department was already here," Roscoe Terry said.
Brockton Emergency Management Agency was on scene to help, as well as firefighters from West Bridgewater.
Brockton's fire chief says a candle may have been what started the fire, but the cause is still under investigation.
