A driver was killed in a single-car crash in Hampton, New Hampshire Saturday night.
Authorities say the driver, Trenton Wendell, 48, of Rochester, NH, was killed after the pickup truck he was driving crashed head-on into a guardrail and concrete barrier dividing the open road toll lanes on I-95 north in Hampton. An initial investigation suggests Wendell made a last-second lane change as he was entering the open toll road which likely led to the crash, according to New Hampshire State Police.
First reponders found Wendell trapped and unresponsive, according to State Police. Wendell was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Interstate 95 north near Exit 2 was closed for about 1.5 hours as authorities worked to clear the crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
