NH Police Discover 8-Month-Old Baby Inside SUV Following Pursuit

The driver -- identified as Travil Tillman, 20, of Lowell, Mass. -- and the passenger -- identified as Hailey Dorr, 21, of Manchester, NH -- were both arrested, police said

A Massachusetts man is facing several charges after allegedly leading New Hampshire State Police troopers on a chase early Saturday morning on Interstate 93 -- all while there was an infant inside his SUV.

According to authorities, at approximately 2.34 a.m., police attempted to pull over a vehicle for driving erratically on I-93 north in Londonderry. The vehicle did not stop and crossed over a grassy median to take the Exit 5 off-ramp, leading state troopers to initiate a pursuit.

The SUV continued to swerve erratically through roads during the pursuit, police said, and troopers noticed items being discarded from the vehicle.

Authorities said the pursuit concluded after the vehicle tried to flee south on I-93, and Salem police deployed spike strips and deflated the vehicle’s tires, slowing down the car, which eventually came to a stop at a dead end on Pelham Road.

The driver -- identified as Travil Tillman, 20, of Lowell, Massachusetts -- and the passenger -- identified as Hailey Dorr, 21, of Manchester, New Hampshire -- were both arrested, police said.

After Tillman and Dorr were taken into custody, police discovered there was an 8-month-old baby inside the vehicle. Tillman, Dorr, and the baby were not injured in the incident, but authorities called an ambulance to evaluate the baby as a precaution.

Tillman is facing several charges including, disobeying an officer, felony reckless conduct, endangering the welfare of a child, reckless operation, two counts of felony criminal restraint, and operating with a suspended license.

Tillman was released later on cash bail and is expected to appear in Rockingham Superior Court at a later date.

Dorr was arrested on an unrelated warrant and released a short time later.
