Extreme heat may to be blame for a pane of glass that shattered and fell from a window at the TD Garden in Boston on Monday, according to a police report.
Boston police confirmed they were called to the scene on 100 Causeway Street around 1:25 p.m. by employees at the Verizon store, who told htme they heard a popping sound just before the glass shattered. No one was hurt.

Video from the scene shows that the glass fell from several stories up. Police said only the external pane on the window broke and the interior remained intact. Shattered glass could be seen on a roof below.
Inspectional services said extreme heat may have caused the issue. Window washers were called in to inspect the windows and the rest of the glass was removed.

MBTA Transit Police shut down the entrance to North Station as a precaution during the cleanup. It's a normally busy area of the city and those who spoke with NBC10 Boston said it felt like a close call.
"They should have some safety standards for sure. It could have hit anyone and from such a height, it would have hit, they would have given a very serious injury," Boston resident Rishab Goyal said.
