Driver Charged With OUI After Pedestrian Hit by Car in Dracut

The 61-year-old male victim remains hospitalized in serious condition

The driver of a car that allegedly struck and injured a pedestrian over the weekend in Dracut, Massachusetts, has been charged with drunken driving and leaving the scene of the accident.

Around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dracut police said they were on scene for a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Lakeview Avenue in the area of the Lo Kai Restaurant.

"Please avoid this area if possible," police said on Twitter. "Follow the roads not blocked off by yellow tape."

The Middlesex District Attorney's Office said Monday that the 61-year-old male pedestrian remains in serious condition in an area hopsital.

They said the driver of the vehicle, a Ford Taurus, did not stop after allegedly striking the man, and proceeded to drive further, where she allegedly crashed again, leaving her car unable to drive.

The driver, Christina Digloria, 46, of Tyngsboro, was arrested and charged wtih operating under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of a crash causing serious bodily injury, as well as possession of an open alcohol container. She is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Lowell District Court.

No further information was immediately available.
