One person is facing charges in Duxbury for her role in a fatal hit-and-run crash on Sunday.
Kristina Blackmore, 39, of Duxbury, is charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing death, negligent operation, failure to stay in marked lanes and speeded.
The victim, 46-year-old Andrea Gordon of Duxbury, was taken to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth on Sunday night and was pronounced dead on Tuesday at 3:25 p.m. According to authorities, a passerby found Gordon on the road in the area of 620-625 Washington St. and called 911 Sunday night.
The truck involved in the hit-and-run, a Dodge Ram, was located at a residence in Duxbury and taken by police on Monday. An intense investigation produced two surveilance photos, which were used to track the truck down.
It was initially thought that Blackmore was turning herself on Tuesday afternoon, but that turned out not to be the case. She happened to be at the Duxbury Police Station for an unrelated matter and walked right into the lobby, where police arrested her.
Neighbors of Gordon have been raising money for her family, with over $35,000 raised so far.
Blackmore is due to be arraigned at Plymouth District Court on Wednesday. It is unclear if she has an attorney.
