Evans Chebet of Kenya defended his title this year, winning the 2022 and 2023 title in the men's division back-to-back at the 127th running of the Boston Marathon.
Hellen Obiri, also of Kenya, won her first Boston Marathon in the women's division. Marcel Hug of Switzerland and Susannah Scaroni of the U.S. won in the men's and women's wheelchair division respectively.
Tens of thousands of athletes are expected to participate this year, with the the course covering 26.2 miles from Hopkinton to Boston.
