Man Shot, Killed in Vermont; Suspect Sought by Police

A man was shot and killed Wednesday in Bennington, Vermont, according to NBC affiliate WPTZ-TV.

Patrick Mullinnex, 38, of Springfield, Vermont, was shot multiple times in an apartment of a Pleasant Street home around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, law enforcement said. By the time police arrived, they said he was dead of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police said they have identified Raul Cardona, 28, of Springfield, Massachusetts, as a suspect in the homicide. His whereabouts are currently unknown, but authorities said he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Investigators said they believe Cardona might have left Vermont and returned to Massachusetts and are seeking a warrant for his arrest.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear.
