Authorities say they responded to reports of gunshots in the area of a Maple Street parking lot at around 10:30 p.m. Friday and found a man and a woman dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

The victims were later identified as 45-year-old Swett, of Nashua, and 44-year-old Champagne, of Manchester.

Autopsies completed Saturday determined both Swett and Champagne died from multiple gunshot wounds. The manner of their deaths were ruled homicides.

Nashua police said overnight there was an active investigation in the parking lot and asked people to remain away from the area for the time being, but noted there was no threat to the public.

Rivera is expected to be arraigned on Oct. 2 at the Hillsborough County Superior Court in Nashua. It wasn't immediately clear if he had obtained an attorney.

The incident remains under investigation.
