The shooting remained under investigation Tuesday evening, police said, noting that an autopsy on Killam was due to be performed Wednesday, and that anyone with information was asked to reach out to Waterville or state police.
Investigators didn't share what they suspect led to the shooting, which led local school districts Waterville Public Schools and MSAD 49 in Fairfield to temporarily lock down their buildings, according to News Center Maine. Both districts later returned to normal operations.
